Deep Cryogenic Treatment To -300o FDeep cryogenic treatment employed on ES and Reference series components is a process of gradually lowering the temperature over a 48-hour period to below -300o F, and then gradually raising the temperature back to room conditions. It results in permanent irreversible changes to copper conductors' grain structure. Why does deep cryogenic treatment improve the performance of audio cables?To understand the true effects of cryogenics on copper we turned to automotive engineers who examined the effect upon robot weld tips. What they found was that contrary to what many audiophiles have been told, after cryogenic processing, copper typically has more grain boundaries. The extreme cold temperature causes grain boundaries to more optimally align, maximizing surface contact and minimizing resistance across the boundary to the point where electrically it's almost as if the boundary no longer existed. Cryogenically treated copper weld tips last almost 10-times longer! Cryogenic treatment of audio cables results in reduced resistance, which enhances resolution and overall fidelity. I am planning to buy two more, but I need some information on options offered (i.e., right-angle plug). I don't see anywhere on the web-site to place an order with optional plugs.
